Phase 1project
One of our customers required the painting of Struers metallography polisher parts. These parts, made of hardened polystyrene, are exposed to the effects of various chemicals during their lifetime.
Phase 2design
For this reason their surfaces must be highly resistant to chemicals. As such we tried to find a method of paint application resulting in the perfect adhesion of the paint to the polystyrene surface.
Phase 3implementation
The multiple tests performed to determine this showed that the only solution assuring perfect paint adhesion to the part was special blasting before painting resulting in polystyrene bond breaks. With this in mind we had to find a primer that would finish the surface and make a bridge for the final paint application.
Phase 4realisation
Through these steps we were able to achieve the client's expected objective – highly chemical- resistant paint, free of bubble and blister formation on the surface of the part.
